Research first

APEX does not forecast a sport until the published science on it has been read. For horse racing a library of 7,098 citations has been assembled from scholarly databases and screened under PRISMA 2020: 6,113 records screened, 2,628 retained, 510 studies rated under the APEX racing rating system by two independent readers with checked quotes. The rating decides which signals are tested, in what order, and which are left out.

What the research covers

Win-probability models from Benter onward, pari-mutuel market efficiency, horse, jockey, trainer, pace, draw, going and class signals, calibration and out-of-sample testing. Methods research is drawn from the same APEX library used for the basketball systems.

Coverage when live

Tracks offered on FanDuel Racing across seven circuits: New York, California, United States mid-size tracks, France, Australia, Hong Kong and Great Britain. The track list is set by the research and by what FanDuel lists, not by preference.

What will be issued

The same daily cadence as every APEX sport: data at 5:00 AM Eastern, a sealed card six hours before the first post time, grading at 7:00 AM Eastern the next day. Each issued position carries one win chance and is graded win, loss or push. Each position also carries a Weak, Moderate, Strong or Elite rating.
